Five ways to make a difference, starting right where you are.
1. Build Relationships
Get to know someone beyond your usual circles.
- Invite a neighbor for coffee.
- Start a conversation with someone whose life looks different from yours.
- Get curious about a perspective outside your own.
Stronger communities start with trust, connection, and relationships.
2. Listen before fixing
Ask your community what it needs. Then listen and act.
- Ask a neighbor, teacher, or local organizer: “What would make our community stronger?”
- Listen to the people closest to the issue.
- Find an existing effort addressing that need and ask how you can help.
The people closest to a challenge should help shape its solutions.
3. Put your skills to work
Stop waiting to be an expert. Use what you have.
- Good at design? Help a community group spread the word.
- Love cooking? Organize a meal for your neighbors or host a dinner party.
- Speak another language? Offer translation support to a local organization.
Your skills are community resources, too.
4. Bring people together
Be the person who makes the introduction.
- Connect people working toward a shared goal.
- Invite friends to volunteer together.
- Share a local organization’s call for support with someone who might care.
Sometimes, making a difference starts with helping people find each other.
5. Join The Frontline
You can help build peace around the world, too.
Join The Frontline, a group of people who believe conflict does not have to lead to violence, and choose to give monthly.
Peace takes people who keep showing up. Will you be one of them?
Make Your Impact Last
Turn a good intention into a commitment.
Choose a cause you care about.
Pick one action you can sustain.
Put it in your calendar, show up consistently, and bring someone along.
Change grows when we keep showing up, together.
