At Search for Common Ground, we’re deeply concerned about the escalating food crisis unfolding in South Sudan. Current fighting in Sudan, combined with years of conflict in South Sudan, has displaced millions, leaving countless families facing unimaginable hunger and without many options to improve their situation.

The numbers are staggering: 8 million people will require food aid this year in South Sudan, with 41 counties across the country experiencing emergency levels of food insecurity, and some communities already experiencing famine. But these are not just numbers; they represent real people – parents struggling to feed their children and desperate to provide for their families, while their children face a future stolen by hunger and war.

Search for Common Ground is on site in South Sudan, working tirelessly to deliver food aid and support to people who have fled fighting and violence. But we can’t do this alone. We urgently need your help to reach those most in need.

Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those trapped in displaced persons camps, offering them hope and sustenance during these challenging times.

Feed families in the midst of conflict

Our team is mobilizing to provide essential food packs in South Sudan. With your support, we aim to procure a mix of food items sufficient to sustain families for 2-4 weeks. $40 provides one week of food for a family of eight. $80 provides two weeks of food for a family of eight.

Each food pack contains:
•13 lbs of rice
•13 lbs of beans
•8 lbs of maize flour
•13 lbs of sugar
•625 ml of oil

91% of project participants believe they can make a positive difference, compared to only 17% of non-participants
30 percentage point increase in participants’ agency in preventing atrocities

While we make substantial effort to digitally tag and track your donation and implement your donation on behalf of those you intend to serve, Organization leadership, with significant oversight of its board of directors, hereby reserves the right to use your donation where most needed, as programmatic timing and capabilities change according to unpredictable outside forces. By donating, you expressly give the Organization this authority regarding your donation.
