Despite all the challenges due to the fall of the republic government in 2021, Search opted to remain in Afghanistan and support the public during the most difficult time. Our focus is to strengthen civil society, work with women and youth leaders, help communities resolve conflict in non-violent ways, bring together people across dividing lines, and ensure humanitarian aid is delivered in a conflict-smart way.

COVID-19 response and social cohesion
Search for Common Ground, with support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has embarked on a research project to undertake a conflict analysis for a better understanding of the conflict dynamics in five districts of Herat, Balkh, and Kabul provinces and analyze the impact of COVID-19 on the overall level of conflict, violence, and social cohesion.
