Work Together – Win Together is a project that aims to help youth engage in real discourse about peaceful coexistence and empower them to be the national drivers of change. This program works with youth and communities across Sri Lanka to contribute to the reconciliation process. It does so by focusing on the development and dissemination of positive stories of peaceful coexistence through social media. The goal of this project is to make the topic of coexistence more fun and appealing to all youth regardless of whether or not they want to be activists or social change makers.
The Work Together – Win Together project is designed to create a movement of youth-led reconciliation initiatives under the campaign named “We Lanka”. It begins with Stage 1, the “GO Challenge” – a series of 10 local mobilization events at the district level whose concept is similar to the show Amazing Race. The “GO Challenge” aims to motivate and generate interest among youth to engage in the next stage of the We Lanka campaign. The GO Challenge is designed to bring young people between the ages of 15 – 26 in each district to one space to engage in several challenges that encourage the celebration of diversity, team work, and coexistence.
The teams that sign up will have to complete a number of fun and tricky tasks that focus on teambuilding and cooperation. Out of the 240 teams that compete in the GO Challenge island wide, 100 will be given the opportunity to sign up for the 2-nd stage of the We Lanka campaign.

During the second stage, the teams will find positive stories that celebrate coexistence and diversity in their districts and pitch their creative ideas for telling these stories through social media. With the guidance of an expert panel of judges, the creative pitches of 40 teams will be selected by We Lanka to come to life. These 40 stories will be disseminated through the social media platforms of We Lanka reaching over 20 million Sri Lankans.
