The Council on Tech and Social Cohesion provides a space for the development and expansion
of technology platforms that improve social cohesion around the world.
Check out our upcoming Designing Tech for Social Cohesion Conference, which will showcase
tech for good and connect leaders across the technology and bridge-building sectors.
February 23-25, San Francisco, California
Social cohesion is the glue that holds society together – particularly in the face of toxic polarization.
For too long narratives about digital technology have focused on the ways it contributes to violence and polarization. While these risks are valid, we’re committed to expanding this view and developing and popularizing technology that promotes togetherness. Promoting social cohesion isn’t just a matter of restricting harmful content and regulating digital spaces. Digital technologies themselves also offer a host of opportunities to bring communities together and create positive interactions.
The time is now to capitalize on the vast potential of digital technologies to foment social cohesion and prevent polarization and violence. Search for Common Ground is a founding member of The Council on Technology and Social Cohesion, which brings together social cohesion experts, bridge-builders, and tech innovators to create a space for collaboration and innovation on prosocial content.
Through concerted, cross-sectoral efforts we can transform the potential of digital technology into a force for good. For more information or to get involved, check out the Council’s website: https://techandsocialcohesion.org/.
