Internships

Search for Common Ground is frequently looking for people with the right skills and a willingness to work hard to make a difference in the world. Our current internship vacancies are listed below. Unless otherwise noted, all internships are at SFCG's headquarters in Washington, DC.

1. Accounting
   The accounting intern will work in conjunction with the rest of the Finance team. The intern will report to SFCG's controller. [more]
   
   
2. Africa Program
   The Africa Program intern will work with the rest of the Africa team to provide support to SFCG's programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Duties include proposal research/editing/production, attending policy meetings, tracking legislation, assisting with program literature and general administrative tasks. [more]
   
   
3. Children and Youth
   SFCG's Children and Youth Division provides technical assistance to all programs across the organization by connecting existing children and youth projects to one another, providing information and resources on the most recent developments in the technical field, supporting the development and implementation of new projects, and creating projects across program offices. 4. Common Ground Productions
   Common Ground Productions is the media arm of Searchf for Common Ground. The CGP team in Washington provides support to our local teams around the world engaged in television, radio and web projects. This includes both post-production work as well as research and fundraising. [more]
   
   
5. Communications
   The Intern for the Communications Division assists in the design and implementation of present and future projects, including the annual Common Ground Film Festival and Common Ground Awards. This has included researching and screening films to make sure they are appropriate and relevant to the mission of SFCG, as well as researching potential awards recipients. [more]
   
   
6. Individual Giving
   The Individual Giving Program is responsible for developing and cultivating relationships with individuals who "invest" in the work of Search for Common Ground. The team creates and implements strategies that educate individuals about the impact of conflict in the world and the "Common Ground Approach" to transforming conflict. [more]
   
   
7. International Internship Program
   A new, semester-long internship launched by SFCG's Africa team to introduce students to the practice of peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Interns work and gain first-hand experience in one of SFCG's Africa field offices. Open to students who are currently enrolled in or have recently completed graduate school. [more]
   
   
8. Partners in Humanity
   The Partners in Humanity program is designed to address feelings of mutual fear and suspicion between the West — especially the United States – and the Muslim world. The program intern will provide support for the PiH section of the Common Ground News Service. [more]
   


9. U.S.-Iran Program
   The U.S.-Iran intern supports the program manager through research, outreach, proposal writing, visa processing, web content updating and representation of SFCG at meetings and conferences. The US-Iran Program seeks to build bridges of understanding and mutual respect between Iranian and American citizens by providing meaningful contacts through Track II, unofficial, people-to-people exchanges.     The web production intern does both technical website maintenence and content writing/editing to ensure that updates are timely, well-written and reflect our work. [more]
