Job 1: Regional Project Coordinator - Great Lakes
The Regional Project Coordinator - Great Lakes will be responsible for managing regional projects in the Great Lakes and assisting with new initiatives under SFCG's organic expansion. Specific tasks will include managing the regional project funded by the Belgian Cooperation, supporting the Great Lakes component of Africa-wide project supported by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assisting with start-up and fundraising of SFCG's recently launched Rwanda program, and supporting the monitoring and evaluation component of SFCG's projects in the region. Successful realization of responsibilities will require close collaboration with SFCG's national programs in Burundi and DRC, as well as with the Africa Team. The position will be based in Bujumbura, Burundi, and will involve significant travel around the region. The position will be supervised by the Africa Director. [more]

Job 2: Program Director, Middle East
The Program Director will direct and manage a complex series of projects designed to build bridges across ethnic and national boundaries in the Middle East and will be a key player in transforming attitudes in the region. The key qualities needed in this position are a profound knowledge of the Middle East, and the ability to function as both a conflict resolver and social entrepreneur, who is able to make concrete things happen in a very difficult environment. The Director will be based in Jerusalem. S/he will coordinate regularly with SFCG staff in both Brussels and Washington. S/he will report to the President of SFCG, based in Washington, DC, and will work closely under his direct supervision. The President of SFCG, who previously served as Co-Director of the Middle East Program in Jerusalem, will continue to play an active role in the program.  [more]

Job 3: Country Director - Angola
The Country Director manages the program in Angola with the aim of strengthening civil society, government, and community agents, and increasing their capacity to resolve local problems and create more stable and peaceful communities. This position reports to the Africa Director, collaborating closely with the Institutional Learning Team as well as SFCG thematic programming such as Common Ground Productions (CGP), as well as liaising with other programs in Africa. Job 4: Institutional Learning Team Director
Program

The Institutional Learning Team (ILT) works across all the SFCG programs with the aim of strengthening the organization's commitment and capacity to be a "learning organization" at every level. The ILT brings together different specialists on technical and subject matter issues, such as Design, Monitoring & Evaluation and Children & Youth work, and contracts out other expertise as needed. In addition to providing technical support and strengthening internal capacity, the ILT facilitates cross-fertilization and learning across the organization. Finally, the ILT seeks to articulate and document SFCG's methodology and lessons learned.

Summary of Position

The Institutional Learning Team Director is part of the Senior Management of the organization. Her/his role is both to lead the organization towards greater reflection and learning and to share those results with the broader peace-building field. S/he helps the organization to articulate its methodology, and acts as a bridge between theory and practice as well as a liaison between the academic world and SFCG. The ILT Director acts as an advisor to Senior Management on issues related to quality, process, and methodology, as well acts as a support person and a coordinator of support services to the field. The position is based in Washington, DC, with regular travel to SFCG's field offices. The ILT Director reports directly to the Executive Vice President.

Job 5: International Development Officer
The International Development Officer position is located at the Washington, DC headquarters of Search for Common Ground. The Officer reports to the Vice President, International Development, and supports him in his overall fundraising and development activities, particularly with business intelligence and analysis, proposal development, as well as general administration and coordination. In addition, the Officer is responsible for managing grants and contracts from US-based funders from application through implementation. While reporting to the VP, the Officer works also closely with other members of the Development, team such as the Representative of the European Office in Brussels, as well as Program Directors for North Africa, Europe and Asia. The International Human Resources Officer conducts human resources generalist responsibilities in the international field. The position involves recruitment, benefits, payroll, security, and internship program responsibilities. The position collaborates closely with country directors, program directors, managers, and supervisors. It is based in Washington, DC, and reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Job 7: Receptionist/Office Assistant

The Receptionist / Office Assistant serves as the main SFCG Receptionist; helps to ensure that the DC office runs smoothly and effectively; helps to manage the office equipment, including telephone and door security systems; and assists the Manager of Administrative Operations in liaising with the building owner.  The position holder reports to the Manager of Administrative Operations.

SFCG is searching for a Sub-Grants Associate to handle the implementation and administration of sub-grants and independent consultant agreements for Common Ground Productions. The position reports to the Director of Common Ground Productions and works closely with SFCG program staff and the Grants and Budgets Manager. This position is based in Washington, DC (USA).

Job 10: Supervising Producer (Temporary)

Search for Common Ground is searching for temporary Supervising Producers to oversee the production of governance-themed TV series in various developing countries including: Angola, Burundi, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Indonesia, Liberia, Morocco, Nepal, and Sierra Leone.  

The Supervising Producers will coordinate between SFCG's country offices and local production companies to develop multi-episode series for broadcast on local television/radio in the respective countries. This position reports to the Executive Producer for this project, who is based in Washington, DC (USA). The Supervising Producers will travel between production sites as needed.
