Programmes Director, SFCG Burundi
(Based in Bujumbura, Burundi)
Job Description / Announcement
Search for Common Ground's (SFCG) mission is to transform how individuals, organisations and governments deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. With headquarters in Washington, DC and Brussels, we design and implement multifaceted programmes that aim to resolve conflict and prevent violence. We seek to help conflicting parties to understand their differences and act on their commonalities.
Search for Common Ground opened an office in Bujumbura, Burundi in 1995. SFCG-Burundi uses community peacebuilding and media activities to facilitate dialogue and reconciliation among Burundians through informing and educating the public on issues of local and national importance, capacity building of journalists and civic leaders, and strengthening capacity for inclusive participation in communities. SFCG accomplishes this through the activities of its main operational tools: Studio Ijambo, the Women's Peace Centre, the Youth Project, and the Victims of Torture Project. Support to SFCG-Burundi is provided from headquarters in Washington, DC and Brussels.

- Be directly engaged in the continuing development of the organisation, its mission and its staff, through the sharing of experience and knowledge, particularly contributing to its Institutional Learning efforts.
