Internship: Common Ground Productions

Do you believe that media such as television, radio and the web can positively change the way people think and act? Are you tired of seeing media being used to promote violence and fear? Do you want to do something about it? So do we. Common Ground Productions is the media arm of Search for Common Ground, an international nonprofit based that uses the power of media to change the way people deal with conflict. The CGP team in Washington provides support to our local teams around the world engaged in media projects. This includes both post-production work as well as research and fundraising. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Nonlinear video editing of SFCG material (cutting, subtitling, trailers, etc.)
• Video transfers, conversions, dubs, etc.
• Organization and cataloging of CGP's media library
• Preparing video for delivery (DVD, web, etc.)
• Proposal research and writing for grants for CGP media projects
• General administrative tasks (copying, printing, mailing, etc.)

The ideal candidate will exhibit:

• Experience with nonlinear video editing and hardware (training will be provided for Final Cut)
• Knowledge of video formats, standards and methods of delivery (tape, DVD, web, etc.)
• Strong computer skills (experience with Macs a plus)
• Strong interest in conflict transformation, peacebuilding, media for social change, and SFCG's mission and vision
