Internship: Accounting Department

Intern Position
Search for Common Ground's (SFCG) mission is to transform how people deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. With Headquarters in Washington DC and Brussels, we design and implement multifaceted programs that aim to resolve conflict and prevent violence. We seek to help conflicting parties to understand their differences and act on their commonalties.

Summary of Post:
The accounting intern will work in conjunction with the rest of the Finance team. The intern will report to the Controller, Long Nguyen.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for establishing a new grant folder.

• Assist in the reconciliation of accounts.

• Enter budget information in the financial system.

• Assist Grants and Budget Manager in the preparation of financial reports.

• Assist in the uploading of field reports into the financial system

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

Desired Qualifications: KSA - Knowledge of accounting is required. Grant experience is desired but not required. Must be detailed oriented with ability to adapt to fast phase environment. Search will provide on the job training to interns. Please note this is an unpaid internship.
