SFCG journalist in DR Congo receives International Prize
SFCG in the Democratic Republic of Congo is pleased to announce that Congolese journalist Caddy Adzuba will be awarded the Third Annual International Julio Anguita Parrado Journalism Prize on April 7, in Cordoba, Spain.

Caddy was nominated for her coverage of human rights, sexual violence and issues related to returning refugees in the context of the ongoing conflict in the DRC by “Un Altavoz Para el Silencio” a women’s journalism network. Caddy’s work shows a deep commitment to the furtherance of peace and the protection of human rights. Her work exemplifies the courage of African women and journalists who risk their lives on a daily basis to expose human rights violations.
Caddy is a full-time journalist with Search for Common Ground in the DRC. She works on programs related to the peace process, women's issues and the return and reintegration of Congolese refugees from neighbouring countries.
The Prize is in honor of Cordoba journalist, Julio Anguita Parrado, a former El Mundo correspondent who was killed in Iraq six years ago, while covering the war in that country. The prize recognizes outstanding journalists who advocate for and defend human rights. Caddy will receive the prize, which comes with an award of 3000 Euros, in Cordoba on April 7, the sixth anniversary of the death of Julio Anguita Parrado.
