    Interviews with SFCG

Frances Fortune - Here on Earth: Radio Without Borders

Frances Fortune, SFCG's Africa Director, was interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio's Here on Earth on March 7, 2011, as part of their International Women's Day programming.

From their website:
In many parts of Africa, women have long existed within a culture of silence: equal rights, gender-based violence and even sexuality are traditionally taboo subjects. Canadian Frances Fortune has spent the past 30 years on the continent—an experience, she says, that turned her into a “radiophile.” Today, as Africa Director for Search for Common Ground, she builds and fosters independent radio stations to help give women the voice they’ve long been denied.
