Communications in Support of the Return and Reintegration of Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups
Among the most significant challenges in post-conflict environments is facilitating the return and reintegration of children who have been associated with armed forces and armed groups. In Nepal, this has taken on a particular importance, with children paving the way for reconciliation. SFCG is a member of the UNICEF-led working group on Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups (CAAFAG), using various communications tools to facilitate a positive reintegration experience for children and their families. In order to do this, SFCG and AFN – with support from UNICEF - produce radio program, Sunau Bolau (Lets Listen, Lets Talk), which gives a platform for child reporters to address issues that concern them within the transition. Additionally, SFCG uses comics, posters, folk art, and music to create dialogues on child protection at the community level.
Sunau Bolau (Lets Listen, Lets Talk)
In partnership with the Antenna Foundation Nepal, SFCG is producing Sunau Bolau, a children-produced radio program aimed at giving young people a platform to contribute to the peace process. Child journalists work with the show as producers and reporters, creating their own program. It is broadcast weekly on FM stations throughout Nepal. The program addresses issues such as childrens rights, exploitation, child soldiers, marriage, HIV, and other issues relevant to the transition of the peace process. All the stories come from the children's perspectives and target all stakeholders (peers, adults, community, political parties, local government, families, etc).

Public Service Announcements
SFCG and Antenna Foundation Nepal produced a series of public service announcements – 60 second radio spots – conveying messages about the positive return and reintegration of children who had been associated with armed forces and armed groups.
