Bulletin of Regional Cooperation in the Middle East

The Bulletin of Regional Cooperation in the Middle East is a quarterly newsletter that seeks to inform about ongoing governmental and non-governmental cooperative efforts in the Middle East and to offer an alternative perspective on the region. It is distributed to organizations and individuals worldwide.

The first edition of the Bulletin of Regional Cooperation in the Middle East appeared in 1992 to chronicle what many thought was a non-existent field. Thirteen years later, we are still committed to reporting on regional cooperation - and to making such cooperation, not the exception, but the rule.

We decided to shift the format of the Bulletin to an entirely electronic publication that is since January 2004 available online on the Search for Common Ground website and via an e-mail listserve. Converting the Bulletin to a web based publication has also brought very important dividends: namely, the creation of Arabic and Hebrew language editions.

In terms of its editorial content, the new Bulletin focuses on regional seminars, conferences, funding opportunities for NGOs, and fellowships for individuals, as well as articles about regional people-to-people activities. It also offers a review of recent books and publications on important Middle East issues. Selection of this information continues to be based on the core mission of the Bulletin, which is to inform our readers about regional cooperation in the Middle East.

Finally, I would like to stress that this publication would not exist without the materials and information provided by the various institutions working throughout the region.
