Search for Common Ground with Iran

The U.S.-Iran Project of Search for Common Ground sent a delegation of American environmentalists to Iran in February to pursue the program’s ongoing efforts to engage American and Iranian environmentalists in dialogue about, and joint projects involving, the environment.

The focal point of the trip was a two-day conference in Tehran on Urban Management, Population, and the Environment. Additionally, the American delegation visited Iranian environmental NGOs and held a series of meetings with Iranian environmentalists in Tehran and Esfahan.

The trip succeeded in building personal and professional relationships between the Iranian and American environmentalists and spawned numerous ideas and momentum for joint environmental projects.
