Polling

"Identifying issues of key concern to the United States and Iran through understanding the public attitudes is a step towards a dialogue"

"We have responsibility as a public to build bridges"

One of the key priorities of the US-Iran program is to reduce the stereotyping and dehumanizing of the "other" that is so pervasive in the two countries. Search for Common Ground views polling as an important tool for identifying key issues and concerns and showing commonalities. To this end, Search for Common Ground partnered with the Program on International Policy Analysis to develop and carry out extensive polling in the US and Iran.

Our most recent poll was conducted in April of 2008. The poll looked at both Iranian and American views on topics such as each country’s view of the other, nuclear development, and the possibility of a warm US-Iran relationship. A complete and detailed look at the project can be found here:

This project was co-sponsored with the Program on International Policy Attitudes of the University of Maryland (PIPA), headed by Steven Kull and WorldPublicOpinion.org.
