According to SFCG's Asia Director, Brian D. While highly entertaining Tim Bui promotes positive models of social interaction, and it is locally written, produced, and broadcast."
Although Indonesia has made major strides in consolidating democratic processes since the fall of Suharto in 1998, government corruption is endemic and law enforcement institutions have been widely linked to gross human rights abuses. SFCG's programs in justice and rule of law aim to strengthen democratic processes and build the capacity of both prisoners and law enforcement officials in dealing with conflict in a healthy and productive way.
Despite promising developments such as quotas designed to ensure women's political participation, Indonesia remains a highly patriarchal society, and women are still underrepresented in government and civil society. The UN Security Council's Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security stresses the key role women play in maintaining peace and reconstructing post-conflict societies and emphasizes the need for women's full participation in peacebuilding and security efforts. In line with this goal, SFCG's programs aims to build the capacity of women as leaders and peacebuilders on multiple levels of Indonesian society in order to ensure lasting peace and stability.
