Film Festivals and Series at Universities in the U.S. and Abroad
Since we began in 2001, the spirit of the CGFF has touched the many audiences who have attended screenings. Headquartered in Washington D.C., where the CGFF has been shown regularly, the CGFF moves far beyond the United States.
In India two times through the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi
- It was shown in Indonesia twice, both in Jakarta and in provincial capitals
- In Guyana through the UNDP, to help to catalyze a national dialogue on racial and ethnic relations
- At Universities in Istanbul, Uganda, Italy, Canada
- In Nigeria through the UND
- And in Lebanon and Jerusalem
- In the U.S., films in the CG Series have been shown at Harvard University, Tufts University, Columbia University, University of Missouri Columbia School of Journalism, University of Wisconsin, Ithaca College, NOVA Southeastern University, Colorado College, and others.
“Well, we did the impossible. The film festival was a magnificent success. The four day Abuja festival, the satellite trainings and the satellite festivals went off beautifully.
Over three hundred people attended the Opening Night, and with each subsequent screening, audiences large and small revealed a hunger for the kind of inspiration and dialogue that the festival stimulates.” Marie Pace, UNDP Program Officer in Nigeria
