Public Service Announcements

In addition to dramatic and journalistic programming, Common Ground Productions produces public service announcements (PSA's) that directly and succinctly urge people to reexamine their actions, attitudes and preconceptions. These short PSA's may warn of the negative implications of violent conflict or highlight the commonalities shared by opposing groups. Depending on the situation, PSA's are delivered by radio, television and/or print. Celebrities and other popular figures have been enlisted to lend their influence to a campaign.

Macedonia - "Train" PSA
Part of the "We Are Macedonia" campaign undertaken by Search for Common Ground. In these televised spots, various characters communicate and cooperate with each other despite each speaking their own native languages. Dialogue in Macedonian and Albanian; subtitles in English. Running time: 1 min.

Burundi - "Ziggy Marley's Message #1"
When SFCG asked Burundians what living celebrity was most influential in their country, the answer was clear: Ziggy Marley, international reggae superstar and son of the legendary Bob Marley. Ziggy kindly agreed to record a number of PSA's urging Burundians to embrace peace and coexistence. Dialogue in English. Running time: 30 sec.
