The Africa Program intern will work with the rest of the Africa team to provide support to SFCG's programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Duties include proposal research/editing/production, attending policy meetings, tracking legislation, assisting with program literature and general administrative tasks.

Search for Common Ground’s Communications Department is seeking a full-time intern for Fall 2010. The Communications Intern will assist in the design and implementation of many projects, including the Common Ground Awards; the Common Ground Film Series; and contributing to and editing Search for Common Ground’s social media.
The Institutional Learning Team (ILT) is seeking a part-time intern for the Fall 2010 semester. ILT sits at the heart of the
organisation. The team comprises a Director, two Design, Monitoring and
Evaluation Specialists, a Senior Research Associate and a Children and Youth
Specialist. ILT is a fun team to be part of and undertakes work that spans the
full spectrum of work of the organisation. ILT works across every programme at
Search for Common Ground (SFCG) either on Design, Monitoring & Evaluation
(DM&E) related issues or on learning and cross-fertilisation related
themes. The team is responsible for a) providing leadership on the Design,
Monitoring and Evaluation of our programmes b) managing our knowledge and
disseminating best practices c) mainstreaming Children and Youth in conflict
transformation.
SFCG’s International Development Team (IDT)
is responsible for all aspects of fundraising with inter-governmental agencies,
corporations, foundations and individuals. It also provides program support to our
country programs in Indonesia, Macedonia/Kosovo, Morocco, Nepal and Ukraine,
new program development, and policy/advocacy.

summer internship program designed to encourage young people interested
in pursuing a field in conflict transformation to gain invaluable field

The Peacebuilding Programs Intern will assist in a variety of projects with an emphasis on The Team, a global initiative using television series about soccer. He/she will assist the Senior Program Advisor in doing research, developing materials, and providing support to program staff globally to implement peacebuilding activities.

SFCG’s Brussels office is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations, other NGOs, donors and key government and international organization officials.
These
internship positions are located at SFCG’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. The SP
interns provide research, administrative and logistical support to the SP team.
Interns report to the Senior Officer, but work closely with all members of the
Department.The interns are considered
an integral part of the SP Department and are included in weekly staff meetings
and many strategy sessions.
The Track II Mediation Unit of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is seeking an intern in fall 2010, beginning early September. The position is unpaid. We are requesting a 25+ hour per week minimum commitment. The internship duration is a minimum of 3 months and we prefer candidates who can stay 6 months.
The Track II Mediation Unit focuses on conflicts in which we can conduct activities on unofficial levels to support official agreements or reconciliation. These Track II processes take many forms, including back channel talks, people-to-people exchanges, cultural diplomacy, confidence-building activities, and shuttle diplomacy between parties.
