Search for Common Ground’s Communications Department is seeking a full-time intern for spring 2010. The Communications Intern will assist in the design and implementation of many projects, including the Common Ground Awards; the Common Ground Film Series; and contributing to and editing Search for Common Ground’s social media tools.

The Country Director will take responsibility for the start up of the program and overall management and direction of SFCG-Timor-Leste, including the fundraising for and launch of new projects, the development of strategy, and the coordination of the day-to-day activities of the program. This position reports to the Vice President for International Development, collaborating closely with the Institutional Learning Team, the International Development Support Team, and SFCG thematic programming such as Common Ground Productions (CGP), as well as liaising with other programs in Asia. This position is based in Dili. It involves significant travel to all 13 districts.
Project
In early 2010, SFCG will begin implementing a Youth Radio for Peacebuilding project, to promote community reconciliation, and strengthen civil society capacity in Timor-Leste. The project aims to promote the participation of youth through the innovative use of media – radio, in particular – as an accessible tool to facilitate meaningful people to people participation in peace-building and reconciliation processes. In addition, it will provide youth with a mechanism to explore issues of common concern in a constructive solutions-oriented way while increasing understanding and responsiveness to their needs and perspectives. The project will directly involve Timorese youth from all 13 districts who will participate in all aspects of the radio production, as well as a number of stakeholders, including the government, who will benefit from information about the needs of youth, which they can consider in strategizing Timor’s social reintegration and peace building.
The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative HR generalist support in the Human Resources (HR) Department. The HR Assistant will coordinate the future employment recognition program and the internship program. The position holder serves as the first point of contact in the HR Department. SFCG’s International Development Team (IDT)
is responsible for all aspects of fundraising with inter-governmental agencies,

The Junior Grants Analyst is a member of the Finance Team in Washington,

This position will be a support function to SFCG’s programmes in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Sudan, as well as regional interactions between them. The Programme Associate works with the country programme teams to produce proposals, reports, programme literature, and other materials. It also takes a leadership role in pushing forward the Great Lakes regional strategy, including fundraising and support project implementation. In the proposal development function, the Programme Associate supports both programme design and monitoring and evaluation, providing input and feedback to the country teams to better target proposals and capture results. The Programme Associate can also provides specific support to the country and regional programmes as requested, including capacity-building in finance and administration, strategic planning and development with the programme staff, support to monitoring and evaluation activities, and other special projects as assigned. The position works within the larger Africa Team and reports to the Africa Programme Manager.The position involves significant travel within the region, approximately 50-60% of the time.

SFCG currently has programmes in nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa: Angola, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Sudan.The Africa Team is comprised of staff members who provide leadership and support to these country programmes, led by the Africa Director and managed by the Africa Programme Manager.

SFCG is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Officer to provide leadership in the areas of cause marketing, individual giving campaigns, and corporate and foundation fundraising. The core of the position is to develop and implement exciting, innovative cause marketing strategies and products. The position plays a vital role in a small team raising funds for SFCG’s 30th Anniversary Campaign, and must aggressively grow SFCG’s fundraising capabilities and outcomes.
The opportunity involves a commitment to long-term fundraising for programs and base budget operations as well as for endowment support. The experience and mindset of an innovator who can break new ground and achieve substantial programmatic and base budget goals is needed for this position. The position is located in Washington, DC, and reports to the Director, Strategic Philanthropy in the International Development Department. The Strategic Philanthropy Team focuses on funding from corporations and foundations, cause marketing, endowments and reserve support, as well as individual giving, both in the US and globally.
SFCG’s Brussels office is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations, other NGOs, donors and key government and international organization officials.

people-to-people exchanges, and shuttle diplomacy to help parties solve
conflicts. We operate under the premise that instead of confronting
each other as the enemy, parties should sit together and face a shared
